@satori I see this causing quite a bit of collateral damage. You got artists and commissioners that will use MAP symbology in their works and MAPs that don't use these symbols.You also got people that just use these things in their name just because. If anything the most rational thing to do would be to only report and ban for behaviors rather than these things.It's not like being a Nazi that's actively harmful. Not to mention the political climate we're in.

While the story is tragic and horrible, I wouldn’t be surprised if others use this to target people that are innocent, even though a good chunk aren’t. As a community, we will eject the poison from our blood stream, but we must be careful not to label important blood cells as poison, lest we bleed out.

@garikaliev @satori MAP stands for minor attracted person, not "molester". Some are against contact of any kind, others rationalize it as OK. They are not a monolith. I think that simply targeting an emoji on someone's post or art without clear evidence that that person is trading or doing something illegal is just going to turn into a witch hunt. Obviously with shota art, there's going to be discussion of *fictional* pedophilia at times.

@garikaliev telegram by itself is not a bannable offense. A single emoji by itself is not enough evidence either. But when I see a combination of “94🏈🍕🌀 Telegram in bio” the culpability is high enough for me to take action without checking their telegram link. baraag is also not a place for trading to begin with, even just 2d art and memes. It is for artists to safely share their works and I cannot let bad actors put this community in danger of being shut down.

Sounds like the Twitter / Reddit folk who engineer fearmongering found a new thing to make everyone freak out about and sow discord. I'm not happy with people being made afraid of silly emojis now: I don't think we're meant to play detective and guess why others use a silly icon somewhere, which so often results in harassing those who did nothing wrong.Not criticizing your post to be clear: Just whoever is spreading abstract fears like that. If someone's a MAP, it's due to them being wired that way in a way we don't understand any better than how we understand what makes someone gay or straight. Obviously Baraag can't support offenders in any way, but it's no secret that some people (not all) who like and make shota art are pedophiles themselves. As long as they aren't acting on it or exploiting actual children on here or elsewhere, I fail to see the issue with it.

@satori I have to admit, I find it a bit opportunistic, because a few years ago, with my first account, I spoke up about the problematic behavior around this topic. I pointed out that some people here were going way too far. I even contacted the moderation team directly, and they just ignored me. Meanwhile, I got insulted by users and even some artists who claimed it wasn’t a big deal to push things that far.
