@MrGR I would hope that AOSP supports Android Auto? But I do not know whether or not osm clients like #organicmaps support Android Auto...

@MrGR @torgeros You don't have to use Google Maps to use Android Auto.Android Auto currently only has the Google implementation requiring Google Play services. However, GrapheneOS supports using Google Play as regular sandboxed apps with absolutely no special access. Android Auto is also supported as a sandboxed app, but you need to grant special USB access at a bare minimum via a toggle to use wired Android Auto and more than that for wireless Android Auto. Wired requires very little though.

@MrGR @torgeros You can use Organic Maps with Android Auto. In order to use apps with Android Auto, they need to explicitly support it as the Play Store variant of Organic Maps does. They also need to be installed from the Play Store, which is straightforward via the sandboxed Play Store on GrapheneOS. Android Auto has a check for the installer and we don't bypass these kinds of security checks in GrapheneOS as many other mobile operating systems which are the opposite of hardened are doing.
