       @judgedread It was ideal for a loose confederation where the States were the actual sovereigns. Not ideal to actually run a country on though.

       @judgedread I'm not sure that I agree, but it's probably inevitable that any new system of government contains flaws born of it's efforts to eliminate anuses if the prior system. In our case, spreading power around to thwart the tyranny of monarchy. I doubt that any of the Founders thought we'd last this long on their system.

       @judgedread @Seattle_Guy The Greeks went over this thousands of years ago, and they had reasonable access to their writings.  A good lot of the founders wanted a (replacement) king for this exact reason, they just didn't want George III.
