At long last you find someone you can trust, someone who seems to care for you and help you. You find a safe place to sleep and they are always there. And then you see that the one you were ready to depend on doing something terrible self-tortuous and self-destructive. You can't stop them, you are too small. You watch in horror hoping they make it out alive.(Thoughts of a newly adopted cat watching a human take a bath.)

@futurebird healthy cats have amazing abilities to seemingly defeat physics in many areas, ranging from falling, to squeezing into tight spaces, to wriggling out of a seemingly secure grip. But the cube-square law ensures they will always be terrified of cold water, unless they grow to tiger size.
