M3 20/8 (yellowish) vs M4 12/4 (blue) on a clean build. The actual code compile times are pretty identical but that freaking single threaded Asset Catalog task kills the Ultra.

@paul that says to me their multicpu bench doesn’t scale well. The extra 12 cores should best the multicore as the diff in single core is big, but not *that* big.

@octothorpe personally seeing plenty of places where I'd expect the M3 Ultra to win where it just doesn’t. Most the code compilation stuff I’m testing is a toss up. Really want to see the M3 Ultra win big somewhere, but it ain't happening.

@paul try Geekbench 5 instead. Multicore absolutely falls apart on Geekbench 6 beyond about 8-12 cores. It's baaaad for multicore.
