And the last question is from @MartyCormack:Q8. There are all different types of cycling, sport, utilitarian, commuter, recreation, mountain biking, gravel, road, bikecamping, etc.Are there one or two types of cycling that you either dislike, have quit or have no intention of tying? If so, why?#BikeNiteQ #BikeNite #BikeTooter #Cycling #MastoBikes cc @bikenite

@ascentale @MartyCormack @bikenite A8) although I used to use an entry level race bike as my road bike (loved that bike, it got stolen), I do not like racer-wannabes' behavior locally during tour de france. Getting punishment passed by a spandex warrior as I'm slowly biking to the saturday farmer's market wearing a backpack does not make my day. Now, I enjoy watching the TdF more than most people, but leave the race behaviors on the course. There's also the dipshit name team on tour that pulled a peloton on a very busy MUP. I expect they lost their sponsorship over that. #bikenite

@InkySchwartzA "punishment pass" is when a driver in a car or pickup truck passes far too close for safety, veering towards the cyclist even though there is plenty of room to pass safely. The cyclist is being punished for being a cyclist. Or being a fitness buff. Or an environmentalist. Or not supporting the auto industry. Or just being different.@artemesia @ascentale @MartyCormack @bikenite

@bobjonkman @InkySchwartz @ascentale @MartyCormack @bikenite Some cyclists do it too. If I have to break cadence to avoid contact when the overtaker swings back into the bike lane, that's a punishment pass. Now, some newbies doing an overtake don't realize that as soon as you overtake you lose your draft effect so you have to crank on a bit harder post-pass, but when the overtaker is wearing full spandex with a race number pinned to his (always "his") jersey, that's not a newbie. And no, motor vehicle traffic was not a factor, the adjacent car lane was empty.

@MartyCormack @bikenite A8. I'm all for everything on that list! I did see a thread about unicycling today and I think I am ok with not doing that because I'm scared of hurting myself. But I guess I'd give it a try if I could do it in a not-break-my-collarbone type of environment.#BikeNite
