@HeavenlyPossum That's something I agree to disagree on, ownership is still needed IMO. For example : you should own your art. You should own your games, your music, your home. Live-service models ruin everything.

And look what all that owning has gotten us. You have to give credit for your art to whatever big studio you work for. Games are scummy gambling ridden money extraction programs on consoles rigged to explode if you attempt to see how they work. Nobody hears your music because multimillion dollar producers are buying all the airwaves, shelf space, and SEO. And home ownership is at record lows with tyrannical landlords exchanging other people's houses like they were chess pieces.CC: @HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social

@cy @HeavenlyPossum look, someone replied with a good explanation of the difference I'm trying to point out. I'm talking about personal ownership. You're talking about institutional ownership ("capitalist" ownership). I wish we could get along more easily, and I'm sick of battling people on my own camp because we don't understand each other.I hate capitalism. You hate capitalism. We may have different ideas for how the world should run, sometimes we even think the same thing but get confused not explaining right. If we could put our differences aside, we'd actually start to have a chance at kicking out the root cause of all major suffering, this faulty system. We're in the same team.

Sorry yeah that was out of line. Personal property is pretty much OK in my books. That's what I think is the difference between owning a "home" and... whatever you call today's real estate market. If no one was allowed to own property they didn't live in, things would be much different.Still not gonna pay someone twice for art.
