If you haven't read a novel called The Fifth Sacred Thing, written by a peace activist called Starhawk, now would be a good time. I'm planning to get hold of a copy and read it again, along with the prequel and sequel novels, which I only recently learned about. It's about how a nonviolent solarpunk community resists invasion by a brutal and expanding authoritarian empire. Due warning, unless you're made of stone, you will cry while reading.#novels #SciFi #Starhawk #peace #NVDA #NonViolence

There is also a prequel, Walking to Mercury and sequel, City of Refuge, both worth reading as well.Starhawk, in general, is a witch we all would like to know. :-)

@8petros > There is also a prequel, Walking to Mercury and sequel, City of RefugeAs mentioned in the OP, I only learned about these recently. Keen to get hold of copies and these, as well as the original, and read them over winter. There was some discussion of making a Fifth Sacred Thing movie or TV series, did that ever come to anything? I can't think of a better set of stories to adapt right now.
