one thing that does annoy me about cpr is that they can't settle on how to display stat blockslike the core rulebook first lists stats in one order, then they have a 2x5 matrixthen npc stat blocks don't have luck, so it's just 9 stats in a row, in a different order

i have tried to many ways to roll a d10 without it feeling badthe "best" i've found is to spin it real hard because then that translates to rotational energy (half the time) and it hits the table and skips/rollsunfortunately half the time it also flies wildly off in a direction if you do this

here's the thing: you can do the spin thing with d20s and d6s as well, but there's a lot lower chance it speeds off like a motherfucking bullet when they landi couldn't explain the physics of why, this is just my empirical results

part of it is definitely weight tho. the d20 is heavier. i use heavier d6 traveller dice (usually, but even my lighter chessex dice don't turn into bullets)

the mission's written from the ref point of view and makes it seem like the pcs can survive triggering <whatever squad of baddies are around> and the truth is, mechanically, if you go in quiet and trip any alarm you're basically toast, mission is junkedthere are escalating events that are prestaged that makes this just get worse and worse as you keep goingif you go in hot and heavy the scenario basically gives you zero advice other than "they should take a lot of casualties"
