Little known fact:The USA uses potash on 95% of their crops80% of the potash they use comes from Canada. There is no viable substitute for potash. The USA imports 6 million tons from Canada every year.Trump is going to decimate the USA's farmers and agriculture sector with his idiotic trade war.

@MeanwhileinCanada I assume that the farmers who voted MAGA already know all this and have taken appropriate measures to avoid any āturbulenceā caused by tariffs to their own personal financial standing.

@MeanwhileinCanada and once he gets sanctions removed he'll try and get all the farmers to buy it from Russia as fertilizers are a huge industry for them. Aside from all the other issues how much is wasted shipping this from across the ocean when it's already available on our own continent

@MeanwhileinCanada I think we should maybe stop broadcasting about how much great, useful stuff we have, just lying all over the place. People get ideas.

@MeanwhileinCanada Oh frick. I work for a chemical plant in rural California that has a failure of a potassium sulfate plant (wasn't economically viable to run) they built a few years ago. It makes a tiny amount, but I bet the people here are about to be cheering that we can spin that plant back up and run it at a profit because of the terrible economic policies that are destroying most people but might have a glimmer of a non-negative impact on a community of a thousand people.

@dmitry @MeanwhileinCanada I keep discovering how Saskatchewan is some mild tempered load bearing province for huge parts of the world.
