@kaia This isn't advice, but for stuff that is baked at a decent temperature for 15+ minutes and becomes quite dry, I always wonder if it's actually about microbes. Freezer stuff for example, usually doesn't go bad when it expires, but loses texture and taste. Basically it means it will no longer be the experience the manufacturer intended.

@Nicro yeah. there was no mold, but a slight sour smell suggested the yeast started dying. should be fine though.

@Nicro@fedi.absturztau.be @kaia@brotka.stIt's not about microbes — at high enough temperature the bacteria and the mold dies, but while that stuff was still alive it might have produced some amount of toxic substances. It sure won't kill you, but it isn't good for you liver either. If you have a choice and it's long past its expiry date — best to dispose of it.

@ageha @kaia i sometimes end up freezing the dough if i feel like its gonna be a while till i use ityou can keep it on the fridge for around a week safely, maybe 2? never went that far tho

@m0xEE @kaia Definitely, though in most cases there is a safe interval a long as it's been stored correctly. It's best to trust your own senses, ultimately.
