@stux yeahHere in Poland it's only allowed to fire fireworks on 31st of December and 1st of January, and while I haven't heard of any malicious uses of fireworks, it quickly gets old when people don't even bother to wait until midnight and fire the fireworks at like 8 PM because they want to go to bed early or sth...and it's like, everyone has a single boring pack of fireworks and fires it at a random time during the evening. Gets old very quickly.

@stux honestly I'm fine with a bit of fireworks. We usually have an organization per town that takes care of decorating lampposts for Christmas, etc. I'd be fine with every place having a fireworks show (or two, one early so the small kids can see) new years eve, and fireworks not being something everyone gets to dabble in. It would greatly reduce the amount burnt off every year, it would increase safety. And it would also be a better looking show than what everyone is going in their yard
