I keep bothering me on news anchors who keep spamming their opinions about every subject they have to read outI watch the news for the facts, not for what someone thinks about a certain situationGuess this is mostly US based news

@stux Hate to say it, but it's been nothing but propaganda for decades... All "news" channels are simply entertainment based loosely on current events. It's been this way since around the time Walter Cronkite retired.

@stux I don’t think its just you. From a european* perspective, what I see occasionally is like super-sensational news alerts (not speaking of the obvious propaganda channels). AFAIK expats commonly report the same experiences.*germany specifically, where one of the most notable event on the news is the annual announcement of the youth words of the year

@stux Given how they’re not covering protests, something huge happening constantly in the states right now, I’d wager propaganda.Then again, it’s been propaganda since before WWII

@stux one of my pet peeves too. Just read the facts! Canadian news anchors do this too….and they have silly conversations with each other. Trying to be celebrities maybe?

@stux In New York City, the big media companies bought out the 3 local news stations, shut them down except for one, and started it spewing right wing propaganda. De-regulation of broadcast media in Reagan, Bush, and Trump administrations is responsible.
