       I know a lot of people don't like the direction of AI but people need to take there heads out the sand and stop pretending like it's never going to be good enough to replace you. All you're doing is hurting the people who are going to be effected by giving them false hope.

       Putting your fingers in your ears and pretending like it's never going to happen isn't helping anyone who is on the verge of being replaced. If you actually care about artists, VAs, programmers, basically all knowledge workers actually address the problem for what it is.

       @BrodieOnLinux when your train is about to drive of a cliff edge, and the momentum is such that it’s too late to change anything. Is it better to have fun until it happens, or panic?

       @BrodieOnLinuxIt apparently is very close to the limit of what it can do. The tech currently being called "AI" is not actually AI, that's just a marketing term. Because of that misnomer, people think it can actually improve itself and learn progressively, interpret and correct mistakes and do abstract reasoning. But no, it can only ever do more and more complex reconstructions of data obtained before. When there's no more data to collect, it can't improve on its own. https://medium.com/@meshuggah22/the-ai-data-crunch-are-we-reaching-peak-data-4a801df2cd91

       @BrodieOnLinux If the advice is "be aware that political action is the only way forward", then yeah. This thing will be "good enough" to hurt everyone (not very good, but the capitalist don't care). So reject it by principle.

       @BrodieOnLinux It's not ever going to be "good enough".Unfortunately, it's going to replace you anyway. It's already begun to do so.

       @BrodieOnLinux The problem is capitalism.
