@mikej @Okanogen My last order was in October! And I used to shop on there often, cat food, house supplies, pantry items, everything. It took a bit to adapt, but I feel like I'm spending less money overall and probably generating less trash which is also good.

@Okanogen @mikej I thought that my favorite brand of "cold spicy noodles" was only sold on Amazon, but being forced to look taught me that the landscape has changed since I last looked 5 years ago. Turns out that "H-Mart" delivers in NYC now! (They are a Korean grocery chain that operate in the US.)Their prices are better than amazon, they just bring it in a paper bag so no boxes or plastic bubbles. And they have a wider selection than Amazon.Amazon just made me lazy.

@Okanogen @mikej To be fair to myself I became very Amazon dependent during the lockdown, then I broke my leg very badly and when I returned from the hospital I used them a LOT and got out of the habit of just going places or looking for other options. But, I'm mobile enough that I can walk down to Katagari once a week ... did you know they have been running their grocery in NYC since 1911?

@futurebird I hear that. When I used to live in the country with limited time to drive to the city, I got used to ordering via Amazon as well. It has taken some effort, but I -am- getting out of the habit. Congrats on your H-Mart find, may there be many more successes like this!

@futurebird @Okanogen @mikej I've never tried this specific dish, though I will make an effort to do so.I'm autistic and quite like eating things at room temperature and have often made cold noodle dishes similar to this.
