Is there any use of talking to someone if they don't remember what you spoke about 10-15 days ago. And, it's a recurring theme with themLike, what is even the point of interacting if a good chunk of conversations end up being, "oh, did we speak about this? Can't remember. Getting old, I guess lol"And no, they're not old, only think they are. The same way a 22 yr old thinks their life is over. I actually take time out to talk to people and would like to think that conversations mean something

@ownlife@mastodon.social my ex (after we broke up) kept forgetting stuff we did together or talked about and I found it quite hurtful. IDK about your friend but with my friend it seems like a stage she went through, her memory improved over time.

idk, I find socializing pretty tiring as it is even if I do crave a few connections, but if this is what it's going to be like, I'd rather stay in my shell. it's not like I don't forget stuff, too. everyone does. but when things like this happen repeatedly, makes me wonder if I was even being paid attention to. oh, well. @brettm yeah, sometimes people are less likely to remember stuff because of burn out as life is a bitch, and also, people are more likely to remember things they are actively interested in, but if it happens consistently over a long period of time, I might as well limit the energy I expend because my time is precious to me and having a lot of things I said be forgotten so quickly is deflating. especially when we've had short interactions.
