@bortzmeyer « Celtic Interconnector », 1.5B€. The question is: where does it take electricity from, considering it will start in La Martyre (near Brest), which receives its electricity from Cordemais (coal), a 200KW line to Landivisiau (gaz) and nuclear plants in Loire.https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celtic_Interconnectorhttps://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Martyre

@bortzmeyer Firstly, they're only "small" in comparison to 5Gw monsters like the EPR: they're actually the size of 1960s municipal reactors. Secondly, a herd of SMRs produces more spent fuel (waste) than a single large reactor. Thirdly, they're not backyard size: no 200-500MW power plant is! They're substantially bigger than you'd need for a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.

#Roughtime, a protocol to get secure time, specially for a constrained device (IoT). Correct time is critical for security (X.509, DNSSEC, TOTP, logs, etc). So, time has to be secured. The typical thing has a poor clock, not backed by a battery. They depend on network time. (Picture of a thing displaying time as 1970-01-01)#Netnod
