If the future is that we need to wait 5s every time a GNOME Gitlab page loads, maybe we should at least show something interesting - how about random tips or excerpts from the HIG?"Never use the label 'OK' on a button""Margins should be multiples of 6px, e.g. 12, 18, 24""Button labels should use Title Case""Don't ask for confirmation when you could have undo instead"and so on :)

@tbernard What is reason for the additional page, I noticed it when I was looking through some PRs recently.

@BrodieOnLinux I don’t think it was a particular well-defined event per se, but rather just obscene amounts of traffic from AI scrapers over time. @barthalion probably has a better answer.

@bragefuglseth @barthalion So basically there's been a noticeable trend up in AI scrapers so deal with it now before it creates an availability problem

@BrodieOnLinuxIt was already creating an availability problem as I understand it: the GitLab instance was being brought down to its knees on a regular (if not constant) basis lately. It seems it is much more responsive since Anubis has been deployed, although that tool needed some tuning as it started with the security checks cranked up to 11: https://mastodon.social/@nekohayo/114094403359558371Seems like some FreeDesktop folks are monitoring the experiment's outcomes: https://chaos.social/@karolherbst/114095704863951781@bragefuglseth @barthalion
