The U.S. government is now deporting (permanent resident) students from Ivy League universities for criticizing Israel. If the official White House and Donald Trump himself make posts about a specific individual, you'd assume they had at least done something terrible! Worst thing Mahmoud Khalil did is guilt by association: Organizing a protest with thousands of participants, during which something happened that was condemned by the organizers and done by a handful of individuals. To then claim he was pro-Hamas, or “led activities aligned to Hamas” is ridiculous. What does that even mean? Isn't any pro-Palestinian sentiment, or any criticism of Israel aligned with the Hamas? That accusation, without any further explanation, is simply a necessary tool to silence a political opponent. If Trump hates him, he can't be too bad of a guy.
