Victorians believed that children should be seen but not heard, and as modern parents we pride ourselves on being more enlightened. We are horrified by the parenting not just of the Victorians but of our own parents and grandparents. Thank goodness we know better, we think. But the prevalence of screens in the fingers of even our youngest children gives the lie to this. What we really want is for our children to sit still and shut up. And mobile devices are the answerhttps://thecritic.co.uk/the-return-of-victorian-parenting/

@carolen that’s why i yell and scare the crap out of my kids instead of putting a screen in front of them. I’m really trying to make them self aware. Who knows if I’ll be able to get them to the point that they’ll be able to recognize their bad habits and eliminate them.
