@foone When I look for info on things for some of my devices I still find links to Rapidshare and Megaupload... if I ever reach them because there is a huge chainload of redirect links between the forum and the final url of the file and sometimes the redirector also died.

@foone Most ant fonts are texture-based since written ant languages generally use "ant brail" -- the textures are based on the various abrasion and punching methods the ants once used to hold pheromones in the early development of written language. But, no modern ant languages ever depend on pheromones alone. Pheromones convey general tone. There are many ways to stylize the textures and long arguments about the best ant brail fonts. (this is fiction... but what if it wasn't?)

to root your device you need the boot.img, the contents of the boot partition on your phone. to get that, you need to buy hardware from somewhere, download a cracked version of a tool with a virus, or find a possibly-incorrect firmware from a mega link on a dusty thread

@foone You can try to find a TWRP release for your phone and use `fastboot boot` to boot it without replacing the boot partition on your phone. From there, you may be able to get a root shell and backup the stock firmware onto a SD card

@foone accidentally flashing the wrong file and getting the phone stuck in a bootloop is one of my favourite things about flashing my phone!Although it's the most fun with a brand new and expensive phone, it makes worrying about having bricked it even more exciting(A bootlooping phone should always be able to also boot into a mode that allows you to flash the right image, so a hard brick isn't really likely, but I only remember that after getting nervous)

@fooneIf Google play crashes like a champ the problem is that you need to update Google services. You can't search for it in the play store (when it isn't crashing) you have to install say Gmail and *thar will insist you update play services and take you to the install page *in the play store*Running up hacked rims on obselete android tablets has aged me abnormally.

@foone lol this is true. also just rooted my phone (motorola). I used the official rom source, which is a windows program currently called "Software Fix" that has a webview inside it and breaks wine every other version, requires you to log in, then start a factory reset, then stop it, and then search the system for a folder with the right name, which has the downloaded boot.img inside

@foone This is why I have never rooted a phone. I hate mobile operating systems not being normal & needing shit like this
