@kaia Since there will never be a "Linux desktop", as Linux is only a kernel that doesn't operate on its own and I use a GNU/Linux-libre desktop.Furthermore, it's heresy to put proprietary Tux next to the holy GNU.

@Erpel @kaia I think I'd rather use PonyOS at this point, although it's not a Linux.

Well, I was growing up when average Linux desktop looked more or less like this and… I do not feel nostalgic in the slightest 😅So I have a confession to make: I DO enjoy "flat" look, dark themes with vivid accent colour, high quality fonts rendered at high resolution, which do not have serifs — all the shit everyone seems to hate…Also DEs are kinda redundant — Sway works well for me even on a touch screen, feels nice not to have any sort of "Start" button, quick launch and all that — computers nowadays have enough RAM to keep all the everyday software you want running all the time. It is nice to only have a minimal panel that shows time and allows me to switch between software that is already running. For everything else — there are keyboard shortcuts, there is terminal with a shell that has autocompletion. Windows 8 did a nice thing in this department for once — a launcher with huge buttons AND… you could also type the name in and launch it, but no — everyone wanted the "Start" button back! Why? You only have like… Inkscape and GIMP under "Applications → Graphics", how is navigating those categories better than typing what you want in? 🤔
