       @Gersonzao @SuperDicq you didnt read it right then, they arent selling your data, they are saying they have the right use your data *as you indicate with your usage of firefox*, this is corporate speak for "for features you use in firefox we have the right to use the data you input into the browser to make the browser features work", this is basically saying that if you, for instance, back up your bookmarks to mozilla's cloud services, they have the right to back up your bookmarks to their cloud and serve you your bookmarks back to you whenever you want to redownload them, it does NOT mean they have the right to *sell* your data (they never mentioned they have the right to sell your data ANYWHERE), you have to look at what they are saying specifically because small words have big meanings in corporate speak.

       @d4rkness@beige.party @Gersonzao@lea.pet Even stuff like saving my bookmarks to the "cloud" is also not what I consider a browser feature, this an anti-feature that can (and probably will at some point in the future) be used for spying.My bookmarks are personal data and tell a lot about what kind of person I am. They should not include a feature like this in the first place and ask people to use it.I can understand that syncing bookmarks between different devices can be convenient, but there are many other ways to design a feature like this that doesn't require storing the data on a "cloud" server that is outside of the user's control.

       @d4rkness@beige.party @Gersonzao@lea.pet They could've designed the system to work in a P2P way, or self hostable, or at least encrypted using a user generated encryption key so the server never knows the actual contents.There's many to improve this system and make it private and secure which it currently isn't.
