My husband takes his medicine in applesauce and my cat takes her medicine in meat paste and one day I'm gonna mix them up and nobody's gonna like that at all.

Sometimes medicine works better when someone else brings it to you. IDK if anyone's proven that one. But, it's worked on me before. But this whole meat paste thing is a looming threat.(Pica insists I also mention that apple sauce, which she consider "worthless monkey food" is also a "looming threat.)It's past time for me to go on spring break. This YEAR. It has so many things in it.

@futurebird My favorite are the dog "cookies." They look just like cookies for humans, but they're for dogs.I just know someone put them out somewhere at some point and a family member grabbed one and chomped down before making a face I would very much like to be able to see.

@futurebird makes sense. Every personally served medicine comes with a side serve of love. Proof is superfluous here.

@futurebird ok, I've heard applesauce before, but today is the day I'm actually going to ask a search engine what that is.I expect this will be a new trans Atlantic culture shock.

@futurebird I’m pretty sure Pica thinks she is getting the better deal.

@futurebird One of the many fascinating things about the placebo effect. My favourite four are:Placebos (and maybe real medicines) work better if someone gives them to you. They work even better if that person is wearing a lab coat.Placebos seem to work as well even if the recipient is told it’s a placebo.[My absolute favourite] the placebo effect has increased over the last few decades in the USA (thought to be related to drug advertising but not proven) to a degree that a lot of older medicines were approved in clinical trials that, if conducted today, would not place them above a placebo in efficacy (maybe. They’d probably get the same boost as the placebo, but it’s a fun thought).Humans are weird.
