@anna @cendawanita @happydisciple @spacehobo @clanwilliam Ooh, is it new(ish?) Used to live just up the road on Pentonville Road and never knew there was a Malaysian place right under my nose.

@aral no idea how long they've been there, but they have a designated queuing area with a marked start of the queue, and multiple reminders to behave while queuing, so I'm guessing they're established enough to need all of that.

@aral And yes, the food is definitely worth queuing for.

@anna @jeromechoo Ooh, thanks, good to know – here’s hoping it’s still there next time I visit. So hard to find proper Malaysian food in this part of the world :)

@aral @anna I’d imagine they’d maintain their streak of being around for a bit longer 😊. London’s malaysian food scene is entirely unlike the rest of Europe!

@jeromechoo @anna It’s been a while since I’ve lived there so that’s good news. Could murder a proper nasi lemak or mee goreng right about now :)

@jeromechoo @aral Tip: bring an umbrella, since the designated waiting area does not have shelter.

@anna @jeromechoo Oh, having lived in the UK and now Ireland, I think I’m basically 90% rainwater as it is :)

@aral When I was in London in 2023, 2 hours of London drizzle achieved what 2 years of Singaporean sky Niagaras never managed: water damaging my phone.

@aral @anna since you mentioned, it’s not nearly the same thing at all but indomie’s mi goreng which can be found in most places reeeealllly hits the spot for Malaysian/Indonesian when the cravings come to wreck my day.

@anna Wow, and that’s saying something because those monsoons are like having a swimming pool dumped on your head. (I grew up there, in KL.)

@jeromechoo @anna Noted. Something tells me this is one of those “to have in moderation” things ;)

@aral @jeromechoo lol I can order them online, but only in quantities of at least 40 packs at a time. My partner had so much Indomie that they actually got a giant Indomie branded reusable shopping bag with their order ^^

@aral @anna I prepare two packets of indomie at a time for myself very moderately 😋
