Ordinary cutlery would bend on them, using the blunt end to try and smash them often resulted in the plate beneath breaking. When one finally succumbed it shattered sending pastry shrapnel flying everywhere, coated with mince the temperature of molten lava. We'd hide them when mum wasn't looking and dad used them to build a rockery. 😁
