I love riding with my feet on the articulating section of the bus whilst holding the rail in one of the inline sections — because, when the bus turns, it feels like you are driving it! It’s like surfing. Sometimes I think of mass transit like it’s an amusement park ride. Underground roller coasters? what’s not to love.

@futurebird I used to love to do that riding the green line! I'd stand in the middle section between cars that articulates and just "surf" home. I had extra space because most other people avoided that area

@futurebird I have absolutely "surfed" a subway car while not holding on to anything 👍

@futurebird Oh yes, except I lean heavily into corners, so I'm basically not holding the rail at all and letting g-forces do the hard work.(I'm holding the rain in case of a sudden stop or something, ofc, but only just.)

@futurebird There are parts of the DLR in London that feel a little like a rollercoaster or a log flume type theme park ride. At least in my mind anyway.
