Windows users, does Windows have a hierarchical file view like macOS (pictured below)? I want to be able to select multiple files in multiple folders to drag them into an app, and I haven't found a way to do it without opening each folder individually. In Windows, unless there's a better way, I have to double click on a folder, then drag the file I want, then go up in the directory to show the folder list again, and repeat for each file. Significantly more work.#Windows #Tech

@MichaelPorter There are folders and subfolders, like directories and subdirectories in DOS. So I could have a Music folder, and in that, I could have various genres, singers, or albums. But I have never heard of being able to select specific files from several folders at once and copying them as a whole. But using the keyboard might make things much quicker, as might keeping your main folder open so you can quickly go to it and select files, instead of constantly using the same window to copy, then go back to the folder, then copy again. As for the keyboard, just highlight the file or folder you want with the arrow keys, hit ctrl+c to copy, then alt tab to your program, and hit ctrl+v to paste. Alternatively, use ctrl+a to select all folders or files within a folder and then, in the window where you want to copy them, ctrl+v to paste, as usual.

@dandylover1 @dosnostalgic Thanks to you both for some ideas. The laptop battery died, so I'm giving it a chance to recharge before I try things out.It doesn't look like I'll be convert to Windows too soon ๐Ÿ˜ŠFile manipulation is really easy on #macOS, and this is with the built-in Finder app that people *still* complain about ๐Ÿ˜„

@MichaelPorter @dosnostalgic You're very welcome. as a blind screen reader user, I would never go back to Mac. I tried it for a time and hated the differences between VoiceOver (the built-in screen reader on Mac) and Nvda (my Windows screen reader) and how Mac handles certain things. But of course, you need to use what works for you.
