@mord @elftummy Bugler. If it's good enough for the homeless man that's drinking a Crazy Stallion at 9 am, it's good enough for you.

@mord Can't go wrong with the classic Captain Black Original. It's very inexpensive ($8 most places) and a good basic aromatic blendYou can find it at most grocery stores that still sell tobacco, most CVS/Wallgreens, and you can buy it online from smokingpipes.comIf you're just looking for more of the classic tobacco taste, I reccomend the American Spirit "roll your own". All of them are good, black is my favorite, but for beginners I'd look for any of the blue onesIn the 2nd image the differences between the packs (from left to right)Black - 10% perique sourced from 1 parish in Louisiana (very bold taste) 90% same as the blue packTurquoise - USDA certified organic, no additivesBlue - no additivesDark Blue - no additives, only sourced from US farms

No, I used to smoke cigarettes but I quit that years ago. I just saw you discussing it with someone recently and it reminded me of my uncles smoking pipes growing up, and I wanted to try it ā

@mord There aren't really any menthol pipe tobaccos but the closest thing is Sutliff Frosty Mint https://www.pipesandcigars.com/product/sutliff-frosty-mint/AB0-TP.html

I really only smoked menthols because those are what I used to steal from my dad, and it's impossible to switch to regular cigarettes afterwards. But I'll try regular pipe tobacco first and see what it's like

Just found out my dad still has his dad's old pipe collection so I'll get those soon enough too. I don't think anyone alive knows exactly, but I'd wager they are at least from the 50sā
