@s1r83r @rl_dane Support for both can be enabled in Firefox with image.avif.enabled and image.jxl.enabled in about:config.And support for WebP could be disabled this way until recently — now I have to patch back the option to disable this abomination 😩Yes, I hate WebP and I think it should have never existed. Google having control even over codecs is a nightmare even if they aren't collecting royalties, they still exploit it to their advantage.

@rl_dane IIRC, WebP is VP8 i-frame compression, wgile AVIF is on the newer open-source codec

@rl_dane WebP has never been much popular. Firefox took it's time to implement it.
