Never fall asleep listening to Mr. Alastair Preston Reynolds' novels. Not only will you be hopelessly lost when you wake up ... but the dreams will be SO STRANGE. I dreamed my robotics team cloned itself so they could have more drivers. But then the robot came to life and wanted to be cloned too (it was mad) and we had to take it to see a giant squid on Mars who was also my mother for some reason. *shakes head*lordy lordy

@futurebird I spent pretty much all of 8th grade falling asleep to Douglas Adams' HHGTTG books. I don't recall any vivid dreams from that time, but I'm sure it affected me.

@futurebird read Chasm City and Revelation Space, I'm now at Redemption Ark. I'm a sucker for novel series, because it's always so much effort to think yourself into a newly built world - I like them to be more or less constant for a while.
