The only people that haven't bought into "modern" design and still have fun with how there applications look are developers in the audio space making DAWs and VST plugins

@BrodieOnLinux Those look a lot like the applications for DAW on Windows and music folks love the knob look. I suspect they cater to their audience. :)

@BrodieOnLinux I believe VSTi and DAWs benefit a lot from looking like physical rack mount equipment, so they do get to have a lot of fun with their visual design

@BrodieOnLinux never forget that we almost had a DAW that was, as Brodie calls it, a LibAdwaiderApRIP GTK4 Zrythm

@BrodieOnLinux Well, you use several different VST synths in a single project, they can’t all just look the same

@ashmeshedup @BrodieOnLinux Are there any plans what the Qt Zrythm is supposed to look like?

@BrodieOnLinux while there's a point to presenting an interface that feels familiar, they lack somewhat in the virtual arena, though. Twisting a knob is much harder when you can't do the twisting motion. They often look pretty, though.

@BrodieOnLinux As someone working in AV, can confirm. Some of the companion software for mixer boards I've seen can get crazy
