@SuperDicq @thawkade when this originally happened, it severely degraded my opinion of LibreOffice and I honestly just never really got over it. Imagine having such salty whiny anti-furry people in your leadership to do such a thing; after all the support everyone gave it, cancelling the whole competition *just* because they don't like the result. Absolutely mindblowing to me.

@garfieldairlinesFortunately their super awesome work is still immortalized in various KDE mascots, among them Konqi / Kate and Kiki :) Back when I was trying to let Libera(.chat) have a mascot, they would have been one of my favourite two artists to do it. Unfortunately Libera was about as stubborn and conservative about the idea as LibreOffice was, so that mascot never came to life. @SuperDicq @thawkade

@FoxbrushTailwag @garfieldairlines @SuperDicq @thawkade I'm slightly out of touch, so excuse my question but is libre or open office even still relevant?Whoever uses MS365 won't really leave it. And "kids these days", ie the main source of new users, use gdocs or no office at all, because other tools do what they can better or much easier. There was also no app version when I last looked into it prequarantine, which is basically a requirement these days to even compete.

@thawkade honestly, idk why ppl would even bother buying a microsoft office subscription. if I was going to buy it, I'd probably grab ms office 2013 or something that didn't require a subscriptions.
