I wanna see what video games look like in the alternate history where instead of triangle-pushers, the first 3d accelerators that got big were some kind of voxel-accelerator.

@foone I keep wondering if today's GPUs couldn't do that very well too, pure voxel > screen pixel rendering...

@foone Me too, and voxels like Command and Conquer, Blade Runner and stuff, not "Minecraft"'s version.It can probably be done using Vulkan compute shaders, but it's outside my skillset for now.

@foone If memory serves well the Saturn ran quads instead of triangles. So technically it was a voxel accelerator, i think.
