       Flagging – some folks are already aware, important to know that, right now, Pixelfed, Loops, and Sup are mostly run by one person, Dansup, and there are legitimate issues with that, some mentioned here: https://dansup-open-letter.github.io/appendix/No doubt we need replacements for Instagram, TikTok, etc. that aren't owned by billionaires, and the Activity Pub protocol (which Mastodon is built on), is a good step forwardWe also need cooperation & working together, that is not an afterthought

       Depending on one person, or a few people, means a platform's ability to grow will always be tied to that person's stresses, worries, talents, hopes, fears, etc. and that is unsustainable...It is also why we are in a moment when Big Tech platforms are rushing headlong into terrible product decisions & AI-generated slop, and acting as state run media We can do better by social media, there are brilliant minds & communities – it's hard work moving power down and out, but it can be done
