@historyofpunkrock Patty Smith dated a member of Blue Oyster Cult and co-wrote several song for the band. Notably, "Career of Evil", the first track on the band's third album Secret Treaties.She also did the original version of the more famous "Unplugged" 10,000 Maniacs song, "Because The Night."She also did a lot of work with, and for a while dated, Bruce Springstein.

@historyofpunkrock I've also heard Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries named as a punk singer, because when the band did hard music, it was REALLY hard.The song "Promises" has a special place in my heart because of a friend who didn't listen to lyrics and didn't realize it was a woman who was furious with a former lover accusing them of breaking promises, who made me get a "Promise" tattoo with her after seeing them in concert in, like, 1999.
