In response to the TikTok ban and Meta’s years of lobbying to ban TikTok instead of fixing their platforms, I’ve decided to scale back my use of Meta apps. I’ll crosspost to Threads for now, but I’ll likely delete it from my phone soon. #TikTokBan #MetaFail1/10

Moving forward, my TikTok content will shift to RedNote. YT Shorts will continue as usual, but I have no plans to reactivate my Instagram. The IG algorithm is abysmal, editing tools are garbage, and with CapCut likely getting banned alongside TikTok, I’d lose my main IG editing tool anyway. 2/10

Meta doesn’t innovate; they just copy features—and poorly at that. RedNote, on the other hand, has an amazing algorithm. I’ve barely posted, yet I’m growing faster there than I ever did on Instagram. Why would I stay on a platform that can’t compete? #SocialMedia3/10

To those saying, “Just move to IG or YT,” it’s clear you’ve never used TikTok as a creator. TikTok became powerful because of its ease of use, algorithm, and engagement. These are things IG and YT have never managed to replicate. #TikTokBan #ContentCreator4/10

If the main argument is that TikTok is a Chinese app, let’s clarify: TikTok is banned in China, where they use a separate app called Douyin. If you’re so worried about China, why not advocate for actual US data privacy laws instead of bans? #CyberSecurity #Privacy5/10

As a cybersecurity professional, I’ve seen this all before. The same concerns people have about TikTok now were raised about Facebook almost two decades ago. Remember Cambridge Analytica? PRISM? Snowden? The US government has no moral high ground here. #CyberSecurity #PrivacyRights6/10

Meta caused a genocide in Myanmar, conducted unapproved social experiments on its users, and prioritized profits over people time and time again. If we’re banning apps for ethical reasons, Meta should have been first on the chopping block. #MetaFail #Privacy7/10

At the end of the day, my focus is on platforms that innovate, provide better tools for creators, and respect their users more than Meta ever has. RedNote has been a refreshing alternative, and I’m excited to continue creating content there. #RedNote #SocialMedia8/10

The US banning TikTok is just another example of avoiding real problems. Instead of enacting GDPR-style privacy laws or improving our tech competitiveness, we ban apps to mask the real issues. The rest of the world is advancing while the US falls behind. #TikTokBan #PrivacyRights9/10

Let’s stop pretending this is about security. It’s about protecting Meta’s bottom line and avoiding the hard work of competing. If the US truly cared about its citizens’ data, we’d have real data privacy laws and better tech innovation. #CyberSecurity #TikTokBan10/10
