I'm sick of making noun plural. Noun sound better when you don't bother I think.

In particular making noun plural when talking about a category in general eg:"Birds can fly" vs. "Bird can fly"Only if you are talking about a set of particular multiple bird does it sound best to make it plural. "There are three birds. Bird are majestic animal."It just seems like you have to add "s" way to often and it is exhausting.

@futurebird While not typical in English, using the singular for a generic statement would not be odd cross-linguistically. I unfortunately don't have anything like actual typological statistics at my fingertips though.

@futurebird (Plural marking after an explicit number word is also not a given even in languages with a grammatical plural. E.g. Hungarian uses singular nouns with explicit numbers; the plural would be incorrect.)

@futurebird > "Bird can fly"Reactions:"Yes, Larry Bird really flies down the court."-or-"Those Bird scooters are quick indeed"It sounds like the name of a person or company or a service, instead of the generic animal or object. So, then you have to specify "the bird" or something to clarify the generic noun, which is also done.

@futurebird when we would hike in the mountains my parents would tell us to watch out for moose. I’d ask “which moose?” To which my brother would say “watch out for the meese,” which seemed like an acceptable plural for moose to a five year-old.
