Do you ever think about pelicans and get really scared. (They are kind of scary) but then remember the pterosaurs were real animals?(Second image via: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/article/pterosaurs-weirdest-wonders-on-wings)

@futurebird I love pterosaurs, and think it's such a tragedy they went extinct.

@futurebird Wait, that thing could actually fly? Even with low bone density and huge wings that's insane! Are the wing extensions essentially a... finger bone-structure-wise?

@CuriousMagpie Yes. It's the *eyes* that are the biggest problem here.

@futurebird the worst part of pelicans is the stream of fish smelling poop they splatter all over the place. i'm thinking that pterosaurs dropping a load on you could cause some serious injuries, psychic and otherwise.

@keithpjolley You have an imagination on you, sir. A rare one, perhaps thankfully. But I suppose the best speculation is that which has the ring of truth. What a way to go!

@futurebird a wonderful bird is the pelicanIts beak can hold more than its belly canThey had to remove one from ST James's park in London as it ate the pigeons. It was actually keeping down pests but tourists didn't like it

@futurebird I'm _pretty_ sure they would not be able to swallow me, although I would be leery of leaving unattended infants in their vicinity.
