       In light of the government’s latest offer to the railway union, I just want to remind people…If overtime is a constant thing in your workplace, then you need more workers. Or you need a fundamental rethinking of your employment scheduling and then probably more staff. People should not need to be asked to work extra days on a regular basis to cover the known workload, you should have leave coverage included in your staffing plan

       I say this because the latest proposal includes staffing cuts, and I know a significant number of workers in the railway organisations who are regularly asked if they can work on their scheduled days off, or longer hours…
