A small population relative to Russians and other ethnicities in the former Soviet Bloc, yet they found themselves among the chief positions of the communist leadership, they were the commissars and propagandists who encouraged rape and murder of German civillians, they ran the NKVD – with its numerous atrocities both before and during the war – from the top-down. After the war, they were interrogators (or straight-up torture technicians) in the secret police-type agencies in the Soviet-occupied countries such as Poland, Hungary, and Romania as well as the top brass there. So what if there was just a few percent of them in total if a significant number of those belonged in the top few percentiles of those who caused the most suffering under communism? What's up with jewish overachievement in atrocities under communism?
