@davidrevoy Your hard work is very appreciated David. As I am currently experimenting with Krita to find my own 'flow', I will definitely be having a play with your brushes, and likely will have used them in some of the first artwork pieces I am making in Krita that I will be posting here 🙂

Dear @davidrevoy I’m quite new to Mastodon and I have just started to use Krita to learn to draw. I am following along with the free https://drawabox.com lessons and using the Andrew Loomis Successful Drawing book https://archive.org/details/Andrew_Loomis_Successful_Drawing to teach myself how to draw.THANK YOU for sharing your brush bundle I will enjoy experimenting with them!!

@Suiseiseki Appreciate your choice, but a note on copyleft licenses for resources like brushes, textures, or patterns: they can have a viral effect, potentially requiring derivative artworks to be open-sourced. AGPLv3-or-later is a great choice for code, but might not be ideal for creative assets.

@Suiseiseki Thanks for the clarification. I understand the nuance of AGPLv3 and the exception clause in section 7. But isn't it complex to patch a license with a custom exception for end users? I'll stick with CC0/Public Domain, as previously discussed with the Mypaint and Krita teams. We concluded it's safer for users to have creative assets (brushes, textures, patterns) in CC-0/Public Domain.
