I just designed a keyboard that is also a mouse and it has no buttons but as soon as you connect it, it holds down the right mouse button forever until you unplug it.this confuses a lot of programs, you may be unsurprised to learn

I remade it into a keyboard that holds down F9 forever.and then into a mouse that clicks right click every 10 milliseconds.

@foone Are you sure you don’t secretly work for a QA department?Severity: HighBug:Program crashes when pressing all five mouse buttons to the pattern of More Than A Feeling from Guitar Hero while swapping keyboard layouts and using dictation with The White Album playing backwards.

I also found out that some programs do a short fade-in with their right-click menus, but if you're clicking at 100hz you cancel it before it can even appear. so it appears you're doing nothing, but you're actually opening and closing the context menu 100 times a second

firefox is not one of those programs. You get 60hz context menu flicker

I should probably slow down this Mouse. there's no need to click faster than the frame rate

@Novyx it's a laptop! I don't want to try to jury-rig a high-refresh display onto a laptop

@foone Fair enough, though I suspect you’re more likely to do that than most people anyways.

@Novyx actually I'm planning to do some downgrading of laptops soon! I've got two laptops with high DPI screens and both need to be downgraded to 1080p

@foone if you PWM it right, you could maybe make it the worst semitransparent unusable context menu

@foone That's quitter talk.Go until you're clicking faster than the CPU clockspeed.

@foone I do tend to favor a reasonable resolution at a good framerate, personally. My current laptop ended up with a high resolution screen because I wanted a touchscreen at the time. Now, it’s kind of pointless overall.

@foone If you disable menu fade-in (sysdm.cpl → Advanced → Performance → Settings), most programs (even those that draw their own menus) will stop the fade-in.

@foone I think I worked out that 10Hz is about as fast as one can repeatedly push a button. (normally)

@foone now I’m snickering at the idea of a V-Sync toggle in the mouse prefs
