At the same time I understood that land maintenance is everything and clearing dry brush from around the house, garage and other structures was very important - it appears California's Land Management Department doesn't. Perhaps it's unfair to blame them, Gavin Newsom has his own priorities such as Trump-proofing California from all his gang members and illegal aliens. The Eaton fire is burning near Altadena and Pasadena. I'm im Dana Point California Half way between LA and San Diego on the Pacific Ocean Beach. Zero wind here yesterday, Calm Glassy ocean, mid 70's weather. We were scheduled on a noon Wale watching boat tour as Giant Grey Humpback Wales are migrating to Baja for winter feeding now. They canceled over News fears of 100 MPH winds that we got none of. Something feels like a Land grab in expensive Malibu and other areas as why no water when several LA resivours are right their for fire hydrants and scooping water as well as the ocean. But conviently lack of water excuse. And I'm but a few miles away and Dead Calm all day. Zero wind watching the LA Santa Anna pick n Choose where they hit. Something is not right I tell you.

@helavenom That was my thought, too.Ordinarily, Pacific Palisades could get a US military response to a fire if they wanted one. They would be able to summon the US Pacific Fleet and have sailor march water in from the bay.
