@henrik@eliitin-some.fi This is going exactly as expected and I'm very glad these things are not allowed on the road in Europe.

@sally@freesoftwareextremist.com @henrik@eliitin-some.fi Yeah I think self driving cars are actually one of the worst type of proprietary software. As this type of proprietary software is actually physically harmful, not just to the person side but also everyone in traffic.I am not actually against self driving technology by itself, but the software must be free so we can actually study how it will behave on the road and so we can improve it collectively.

@SuperDicq@henrik Virgin pro-cars "as long as they're free" vs chad hates cars as a whole because they ruined individual freedoms irredeemably over the last hundred years and only keeps getting worse.

@sally@freesoftwareextremist.com @henrik@eliitin-some.fi chad hates cars as a wholeI mean the way some governments and cities handle their car traffic sucks but I don't think cars as a whole are bad, especially outside of cities.

@sally@freesoftwareextremist.com @henrik@eliitin-some.fi I think "urbanists" and /r/FuckCars people are really annoying. Especially hate how much they misrepresent my country, the Netherlands, and idolize our infrastructure, while not mentioning that even in this small ass country there are still many places where you can not get around reasonably without a car.And also how the quality and frequency of public transport has been steadily decreasing for the past 15 years in all areas of the Netherlands outside of Holland.

@SuperDicq @henrik @sally the best bicycle experience I've ever had was not in the Netherlands, but in Muenster, GermanyThat city has a lot of thought put into bike infrastructure. It's ingrained in the culture, so even streets without dedicated bike lanes are able to have cars and bikes coexist without issues. Berlin was much worse than this. I did not bike in Amsterdam but it seemed like hell, and it was okay in Enschede I guess. Anyway, the point is that Muenster made me realize you can't just shoehorn bikes into a car-centric culture/city. It has to be carefully designed, over time, and engrained into the culture. It also makes clear that getting rid of cars is retarded, because you can and should have both.
