Searched for "Movie Oubliette" on Brave, got the podcast homepage at movieoubliette.com towards the top of the first page. Searching the same keywords on DDG (now a front-end for Bing) gave me links to FarceBook, InstaGrim, grApple Podcasts, Chains, SoundClod, YouTub, PodFollow, Patreon, and then YouTube Musak, in that order.I scrolled down for 5 pages, still no results that weren't to corporate platforms. Have I mentioned web search is f&%ked these days?#search #WebSearch

@strypey If I use my work laptop instead of my phone there is a notable difference in result quality! It’s like having two very different internets (one is borked).

@strypey I used the same search in google (predictive search got it on the 9th letter), and the first result is the https://www[.]movieoubliette[.]com/ website, with no AI results in sight.(Android, Firefox, piehole) What am I doing right/wrong/different?

@nu > What am I doing right/wrong/different?Using Goggle, which for years I've utterly refuse to do. Even via a privacy front-end like StartPage. Although it does sound like their search is at least as good as Brave, and if I'm using Bing with a privacy front-end (DDG), I guess there's no reason not to use StartPage.Decentralised web search remains the holy grail for me though. This is an essential function and one we need to de-corporatise.
