@thomas_klopf @proedie I assume that little bit of green is the remains of a cover/plug that held the propellant in. So yeah, I'm guessing blanks.

@johnhattan @thomas_klopf I called the cops. They will check it out and then do nothing. But if that guy is using real bullets to celebrate 2026, at least I know it’s not my fault that innocent bystanders are dead. 🫤

@thomas_klopf @johnhattan They 100 % won’t fimd him. There are two possible outcomes:a) it’s harmless enough that no further investigation is required orb) it’s serious enough to justify further investigation, but no shell had a name tag on it, thus the investigation will be shelved.

@johnhattan @thomas_klopf Much to my surprise, the police actually called me back to report. Those are blanks for *gas pistols*, not for lethal guns.It’s still not allowed to fire them in public, but the irresposible owner will not be able to just replace them with live bullets when he feels like it.Aparently you can’t just load any gun with blanks anyway. I did not know that. #til
