The 3 main jobs I held after the military I was able to bypass HR entirely for the hiring process. Same for the one job offer I got more recently (turned down due to the location) after 100's of applications. I have technically never made it past HR to an interview.

@John_Darksoul same, every job I’ve ever gotten my whole life did not go through HR, meanwhile every app I sent in that had to go through HR never made it where it needed to.

@Hyperhidrosis @RehnSturm256 I got a summer internship because I was 1 of 2 applicants in a brand new intern program for the company and the director I shadowed helped me get a job there after. The other one I got the same director recommended to a different director for a higher position. Third one a director from the department with the open position contacted me directly for an interview. It was all luck. I did not do anything special. I imagine there are purposeful approaches though.

@Hyperhidrosis @John_Darksoul well for me it was manual labour stuff. Men needed spots filled, and got them filled (I filled them :Cume:). Far different than what you might be aiming for.
