"Rather than treating BlueSky as 'the space' for community-specific conversations, I’ll encourage folks to drive those conversations to community-specific spaces (like Discourse, Discord, etc)."#ChrishHoldgraf, 2024https://chrisholdgraf.com/blog/2024/blueskyDiscord is also someone else's kingdom, and well on its way to enshittifying. Something like a Matrix space would be a castle independent of anyone else's kingdom.#Discord

In fact, Discord is much more someone else's kingdom than BlueSky, at least for now. Unlike Discord, all BS software is freely-licensed, and their service is open to interop with other services (eg with the fediverse via BridgyFed). Whereas bridging other services to Discord is adversarial at best.

@mht> Discourse is apparently really bad on mobile cpus that aren’t high endMy Android is about 5 years old and I can use Discourse on it. The experience isn't flawless, but it's usable. As with Loomio, I presume the problem is a dependence on a bloated interface framework.@nawanp
