A more specific recent example I had to go into a case this Filipino guy was doing and I had to grab multiple things that weren't ready I had to help flip the patient over prone I had to run to another unit to grab a wound vac for the skin graft running circles around this guy who just kept waving his hands saying " I only know NEURO". FYI this guy makes more than me and after 28 years in the field I still live in a double wide trailer and have enough retirement for about two and a half years.

These h-1bs end up climbing the management ladder sometimes because it's easier to promote incompetence than to deal with it then they use those positions to benefit their own kind. The ones that don't climb the ladder end up working nights and weekend shifts to get the differential for more pay. Just because this is about wage suppression doesn't mean they always make less money quite often they make more.

@vern if you can get an H-1B you're already smarter than, like, 80% of American population by default, so it's hardly climbing the ladder without merit. If you have a skill that's worth importing as far as an employer is concerned, you can deal with the paperwork involved AND you speak at least two languages you're a fuckin' genius by American standards. Just saying

@ThatCrazyDude I agree the educational system is broken here in America and the Americans have been dumbed down and I'm not saying these people are not smart I'm just trying to express real life experiences and observations. I worked with a different one the other day that didn't know the difference between two similar sounding medications. This one was not Filipino. this program with very few exceptions is actually about suppressing wages and no one seems to care about the repercussions.

@vern but that's just the thing. When you run a business you want to hire people that know how to do the job and at a price you can reasonably pay, not to run a fuckin' training center and charity. It kinda has two sides, you know.

@ThatCrazyDude being able to pass a test and knowing how to do the job competently aren't too entirely different things. I do get the business side of it however the repercussions especially in nursing is a lower standard of care sometimes to the point where it's dangerous.
